Peter Shaw is a member of American group The Three Investigators. Incidentally, Peter Shaw is actually named. His name has been simplified for the German version.

Peter Shaw is physically a bit bigger and stronger compared to his famous detective partners Bob Andrews and Justus Jonas. Although outwardly he makes the most robust impression of the 3 detectives, he's rather the timid one of the trio. He is more cautious compared to the other ones so he opts for the safe way out of dangerous situations.

Peter Shaw is distinguished through the fact that (almost) each of his doors is covered by a copy of his Dietrich collection. He is interested in cars and is also very skilled in their repair. It is therefore not surprising that he was the first of the three to own his own car. In the stories, Peter Shaw drives an MG, but in the episodes other vehicles as well.

Peter Shaw has found a girlfriend in the course of the stories. This is Kelly Madigan.

Peter Shaw lives in Rocky Beach and founded the detective agency along with his two colleagues: initially a club for mind puzzles, they developed into a detective trio.
