... so that you know... who... where... when & why...

Julia Durant

Julia Durant had her first appearance as a commissioner at the Homicide Division in Frankfurt. She was transferred from Munich to Frankfurt initially to support their conducted investigative work and subsequently became a member of the Homicide Division there.

Durant is a single woman without a steady boyfriend who was cheated by her ex, so she moved from Munich to Frankfurt. She lives in a small apartment, drinks her beer at home from a can, and lives exclusively of tomato soup and salami or cheese sandwiches. She is also a heavy smoker. She drives an Opel Corsa while listening to rock music.

She keeps contact with her father mostly by phone, since he is living as a retired clergyman in or near Munich. Due to the distance, they only see each other rarely. She often calls him when she is stressed over work. Usually Father Durant listens to his daughter and provides her with comforting emotional support.

Julia Durant mostly has to deal with child or wife abuse in her line of work. Corruption, abuse of power and organized crime are also among the issues with which the investigator is confronted. Julia Durant also has faults and weaknesses, like every other person. She also changes over time, trying to limit her consumption of beer and cigarettes.

The characters in the series are also presented in detail as well as the great detective’s work environment.
