Deadly Friendship

First Broadcast: November 6th 2004

Leonard Lansink as Detective Wilsberg

Storyline

The wife of Joachim Rehmer, property branch manager at the City of Munster Building Authorities, does not believe that the death of her husband, who has been found dead on a railway track, was suicide, even if everything indicates to it. She commissions private detective Wilsberg to conduct the necessary investigation.

At the start of his assignment, Wilsberg assumes that Rehmer’s successor had a good reason to wish the death of his colleague, Rehmer, since he had quite an attractive position at the Building Authorities. However, Wilsberg’s friend, Manni, is appointed as successor and, naturally, Wilsberg cannot regard his friend as the perpetrator.

Wilsberg continues pursuing the investigation, which leads to Grahnke, an old friend of Rehmer’s, who is now facing a decreasing financial state and who was supposed to become involved in a financially interesting construction assignment commissioned by Rehmer. However, Grahnke had never received this assignment.

As the story developes, Mrs. Rehmer’s niece is kidnapped and Wilsberg is therefore close to ending his investigation. Furthermore, a beautiful woman gets Manni head over heels for her and Wilsberg realizes, that she is only involving his friend in a scheme.

Wilsberg is faced with the obligation of telling his friend about the past of this woman, which results into great tension between the two friends.
