Aiden Burn (played by Vanessa Ferlito) has a degree in Anthropology and specializing in the identification of skeletons and the reconstruction of faces in her work for the CSI: NY lab. She is a good looking and smart woman who knows how to adapt to situations and surroundings.

Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Aiden learned to assert herself early, tackling whatever hit her on her way through school and college, as well as in her work today. The western end of Long Iceland lying Brooklyn was incidentally founded in 1634 by the Dutch, as an independent city under the name Breukelen, and incorporated in New York in 1898.

Detective Burn is a dedicated detective who wants to close a case at any cost. It comes to a head when Aiden is investigating a two-time rape case. Although certain that the suspect had committed the crimes, the perpetrators gets away with it. Burn cannot accept it and vomits on the seal of a document. She had planned to manipulate evidence in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.

When her superior, Mac Taylor, is made aware of it, he first tries to keep Aiden Burn on the team. But she cannot promise to be able to resist the temptation of manipulation in the next hopeless case, so Taylor has no choice but to dismiss Detective Burn.

Taylor is angry mainly because through such a procedure, the credibility of the entire lab would be called into question, which would affect not only this, but every other case.

He promised, however, that he would leave the record of this case on his desk until it is solved. Aiden maintains contact especially with her now former colleague Danny Messer, since they were good friends.

When the team is called to a crime scene where the burned body of the now private investigator Aiden Burn is found in a car, Danny especially is very affected by her death. On the basis of the evidence found at the scene and hints that Aiden Burn could place before she died in the vehicle, it is possible for the investigators of CSI: New York, however, to capture her killer.

The irony – he is exactly the suspect that Aiden Burn wanted behind bars and bet her career on.
