Magnum’s friend and wartime comrade, Freund und alter Kriegskamerad Theodore Calvin, nicknamed T.C., is the owner of the charter company Iceland Hoppers and flies 500 tourists on his Hughes helicopter on the islands. Apart from this, he also takes on smaller transport orders.

 

Rodney Redcliff, a friend from the old Navy days, designed the red-yellow-brown colour scheme for this Island Hoppers. These colours, following the corporate design, are used on both the helicopter and on the VW Bus T3. Of course, they also appear on the company letterhead, business cards and flyers and T.C. also wears these colours on his suspenders.

 

T.C. was already married to his wife, Tina, before the war, but the marriage fell apart after his return from the war. The two have a son (Bryant) and a daughter (Melody), who have been living with their mother in California after the divorce. In the end, however, they find each other again.

 

The New Orleans-born Theodore, son of a shopkeeper, is left-handed and does not drink alcohol. In his youth, T.C. used to play football successfully and came in third in the all-time ranking of the basket throwers of his school basketball team, Gambling State University. After school, he was middleweight boxing champion, receiving Gold in the Clove Boxing Championship.

 

He received his pilot's license during his service. It was during this first service in Vietnam that he got to know Thomas Magnum, since they both belonged to the same unit. This unit also included Rick Wright, who later replaced T.C.’s gunner.

 

T.C. devotes his free time to youngsters, whom he coaches in various sports, whereby his friend, Magnum, also assists him when time allows it. When Magnum needs to fly from one island to another during his assignments, he gladly asks for T.C.’s help. He also helps the private detective in the investigation of his cases on other occasions.

 

Usually T.C. needs to cover his own costs. He owns a house in Oahu in the Waianae Range near the Kollhole Passes.
