Calleigh Duquesne

Calleigh Duquesne (played by Emely Procter) comes from Darnell, Louisiana and has a non-trivial childhood despite a rather cheerful disposition. Her father, Kenwall Duquesne, works as a public defender, though sometimes impaired by his alcohol problem.

Even if he keeps trying to get away from alcohol, he does not manage to. Due to these and other problems that have led to her parents’ divorce, it was associated with a lot of hostility and strife.

Calleigh has attended the private and non-denominational Tulane University in New Orleans after high school and completed her degree in physics. Thereafter, the fluent Spanish speaking Calleigh Duquesne began her work with the police in New Orleans, where she later received her nickname Bullet Girl. Her specialties besides ballistics and weapons of all kinds are primarily weapons and tool marks.

Relapses of her father bring her repeatedly in trouble and embarrassing scenes. Although Calleigh’s relationship with her father is often not very good, she does not believe that he can be blamed entirely. One day, Kenwall Duquesne appears at the laboratory of the Miami Dade Police Department. He is firmly convinced to have run over a man and, to protect her father, Calleigh lies to her superiors in the series CSI: Miami.

John Hagen, a former partner of Raymond Caine, is Calleigh’s friend. When she finds out, however, that he was manipulating a crime scene to look good professionally, she ends their friendship. Hagen, who feels much more than friendship for Calleigh, is no longer satisfriend with neither his private, nor his professional life and shoots himself in Calleigh’s presence at the shooting range in their laboratory. She then switches first to a different department, as it now impossible to work in the ballistic laboratory.

As Calleigh Duquesne is convinced, however, that the employees who now do her job are not as thorough, she returns in the fourth season of the series back in ballistics.

Calleigh had a romantic relationship with Special Agent Peter Elliott of the Department of Financial Crime. This disappears, however, to have ended when in the course of an investigation into a case of confiscated money, it later turns up with Elliott. Gradually, however, the two can make peace because they often meet in professional terms.

Calleigh shared a deep friendship with her colleague, Eric Delko, discovering her feelings for him over time. In the middle of the seventh season the two were privately a couple but their relationship was on the rocks some time later.

Over time, CSI Supervisor Detective Calleigh Duquesne takes on increasing responsibility, culminating in the fact that she replaces Horatio Cane in his absence.
