Natalia Boa Vista (played by Eva LaRue) was born in 1972 and has two sisters, Christine and Anya. After completing her training, she married Nick Townsend, from whom she is now divorced. Due to domestic violence, she issued a warrant against her ex-husband.

Natalia is introduced by the FBI as a lab assistant in the lab of CSI: Miami. This is because the Federal Buerau of Investigation needed help building a case against Horatio Caine and the laboratory.

Because of her experiences during her activities in the laboratory, she may only communicate positive information to the FBI, so the case is set. She is exposed, however, but it has no further impact on her work as a specialist in DNA analysis. She continues to remain in the lab and is also involved as a CSI trainee in crime scene investigations.

In the course of the investigations she had a brief affair with Eric Delko, which culminated with the presumption may be pregnant. This turned out to be a mistake, however, and the two preserved even a friendly and collegial tone after the end of their affair.

Due to an injury to her arm, which has been inflicted on her by her ex-husband Nick Townsend, Natalia has no a gun license. Once this becomes a known fact, she obtains the necessary firearms license and since then also carries a gun.

After Natalia's ex-husband was released early from prison, her ??colleague, Valera, has a brief affair with him. Despite her warnings, Valera is charmed by Townsend and when he is murdered, both women are believed to have committed the murder.
